I am a native of Orange, Texas (almost Louisiana). I graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1977. I followed with a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at UT Health Science Center from 1977 until 1982. I practiced general orthopedic and hand surgery in San Angelo for 40 years, starting in 1982. I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. I am a graduate student at ASU in the Department of Security Studies and Criminal Justice with a concentration in National Security Affairs.

Mickey Matthews

Mickey is a Physician Assistant with over ten years of experience in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Surgery. He is a PA known for outstanding and professional Orthopedic care. Mickey graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2013 with a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. After graduating, he moved back to his hometown of San Angelo. He began practicing at West Texas Medical Associates in April 2021 and has been with Shannon Medical Center since then. He worked at WTMA, San Angelo Community Medical Center, from 2013 to 2021.
Mickey explains everything in a way that is easy to understand and always makes people feel valued and listened to. He lives in San Angelo, Texas, with his wife Kayla and three children: Kallyn, Stetson, and Tripp. Mickey loves golf, hunting, and fishing with his family and is currently reading a historical account of the Commanche Indian Tribe.
